Just when you thought the drama between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk couldn’t get any messier — it absolutely did.
The former president brushed off any idea of making peace with Musk, calling him “the man who has lost his mind” after the Tesla and SpaceX boss unleashed a flurry of wild accusations on social media.
Musk even dragged Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein back into the spotlight and claimed Trump wouldn’t have even won the presidency without his help. Yikes.
However, just a few hours later, Musk seemed to soften his tone. After billionaire investor Bill Ackman suggested the two power players bury the hatchet “for the good of the country,” Musk replied, “You’re not wrong.” Still, Trump didn’t bite — telling reporters he wasn’t angry or concerned and that he’s “not particularly” interested in talking to Musk.
Republicans in D.C. were quick to take Trump’s side. Several lawmakers said Musk “crossed the line,” especially with the Epstein comments, and called for this kind of back-and-forth to happen in private — not on X.
Donald Trump tries to move on
In what looks like a final jab, Trump now plans to get rid of the Tesla he bought just months ago when their bromance was still going strong. The red electric car, once parked proudly outside the White House, is reportedly on its way out.
Meanwhile, Musk made headlines again after threatening to decommission SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft in response to Trump’s remarks about cutting government contracts. But after a few hours — and a social media nudge to cool down — Musk walked it back.
While all this was unfolding, Trump shifted gears and celebrated a surprise bump in the latest jobs report. He praised the economy’s performance on Truth Social, saying, “AMERICA IS HOT!” notably leaving Musk out of the post.
Oh, and let’s not forget: Musk also fired a vulgar insult at Steve Bannon, after Bannon floated the idea that Musk should be deported due to alleged drug use. Musk’s reply? Brutal — and definitely not safe for print.
With all the name-calling, Tesla ditching, and public clapbacks, this feud is shaping up to be one of 2025’s wildest political soap operas.
